We're All Gonna Die Someday
by undercover inhave you ever read a phrase or heard a song lyric and it takes you back to how you used to think as a jw?.
remember how we delusionally thought that we were in this select group of people to never see death?.
not only gullible but stupid.... anyhoo... i heard this song on a roots country station just a few mintues ago.

remember seasons in the sun
good bye my friend its hard to die when all the birds are singing in the sky.
we had joy we had fun we had seasons in the sun but the stars we could reach were just starfish on the beach.
that song was just too much when it played I would think "leave me alone with that song"

It seems most here were forced into taking a stand on an issue that they really weren't old enough to know what they really thought about it.
the organization pushes its worship concept on everybody and I'm sure as a child many felt awkward and different.
I went to catholic school for 12 years we had to spin off a litany of prayers every morning in school followed by the pledge ofallegiance a we stood and prayed before each class after class before lunch after lunch before we went home. During lent we went to church before school on friday afternoon we went over to the church in our uniforms had hymn practice for sunday mass where we had to sit with our class. It was a nightmare but we didn't have to pretend we liked it when the nun would leave the room we laughed and jumbled up the prayers. One time the nun got so mad at us she hit a few people called us the devil incarnate and we all smirked.
this was just a sample of an alternate childhood spiritual universe.

Having not been raised as a JW and being a product of the late 60's hippie movement and very anti vietnam I have certain feelings about nationalistic and patriot stuff.
Throughout history people have been highly motivated to participate in atrocities waving flags and singing patriotic songs as it was so aptly put by woody Allen "when I hear Wagner I get the urge to march on Poland" .
To me sit stand whatever I don't feel attached to the land of my birth I don't get dewy eyed over the national anthem I realize the man who wrote it was highly motivated by events in his time in history. That was something for him but govenments will do what they may but I won't be singing about it.

I,m not really a baseball fan but I have some memories. I remember as a kid it was the brooklyn dodgers and I also remember that meet the mets song because it played all the time.
My stepfather took me to a yankees game they were playing the washington senators and everyone seemed concerned about Jimmy Piersall and what he might do. I remember the bobby Richardson fan club was there. It was the time of Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris.
I also remember the excitement on tv the day Whitey Ford a pitcher hit a grand slammer everyone was yelling.
these are my childhood baseball memories.

I believe some intelligence is behind all of this but I don't know what they/it wants or what we are exactly we could be for their/its amusement. I don't like that idea but this planet is very strange. It's a carnivorous place everything lives, breaks down and dies.
I have pursued many ideas all of them turned out to be incorrect so I don't know. I believe this planet will one day go the way of all planets and everything we see will be gone it would be nice if we could continue to exist in another realm or something but I'm tired of make believe I want proof.

Things you didn't think about before you became a parent
by sabastious ini never had to think about what a massive predicament it is to be watching your 6 month old alone and having a massive dump come along that you know is going to take 10-15 minutes...especially if your child is being really fussy.. -sab.
